7-Day Visa on Arrival for Riau Islands Visitors Effective since December 17, 2024, a new 7-Day Visa on Arrival (VOA) is available for international visitors traveling to the Riau Islands. This visa, priced at IDR 263,500, permits entry for tourism and business within specific areas of the Riau Islands. Currently, citizens of 86 countries can apply for this 7-day VOA. Please note that entry and exit with the 7-Day VOA for the Riau Islands are restricted to designated ports within the Riau Islands, including the Sekupang Ferry Terminal, Batam Centre Ferry Terminal, Nongsapura Ferry Terminal and Bandar Bentan Telani (BBT) Ferry Terminal. This visa cannot be used to enter or leave Indonesia through other regions. The 7-Day VOA must be purchased offline upon arrival. Visitors to Batam or Bintan must obtain this visa exclusively at the Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Counter situated at the Ferry Terminal. Payment must be made in Indonesian Rupiah (cash only). Currency exchange services are available at the terminal for travelers who need to convert their currency. It is essential to obtain the visa before proceeding to the immigration counter for passport clearance and customs processing. For visitors planning to stay longer than 7 days, the standard Visa on Arrival (VOA) is still available. The *standard VOA is valid for a maximum of 30 days at a cost of IDR 503,000 per person* and can be extended once for an additional 30 days at a further cost of IDR 503,000 per person.

Visa-Free Entry to Batam & Bintan for Singapore Permanent Residents Starting October 8, 2024, Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs) will be able to enter Indonesia’s popular islands of Bintan and Batam without the need for a visa. This visa-free policy, introduced by the Indonesian government, aims to boost tourism and strengthen ties between Singapore and Indonesia, particularly for those visiting the Riau Islands. Here’s what you need to know about this new travel arrangement, including the specific procedures and eligibility criteria. Visa-Free Entry Policy for Singapore PRs As per the latest official circular, Singapore PRs who meet the eligibility criteria will benefit from visa-free entry to Indonesia, provided they use specific immigration checkpoints. The key entry points include eight designated seaports across the Riau Islands: Bandar Bintan Telani (Bintan Resorts) Nongsa Terminal Ferry Bahari Marina Teluk Senimba Batam Centre Citra Tri Tunas Sekupang Sri Bintan Pura Tanjung Balai Karimun This new policy applies exclusively to those who enter and exit Indonesia through these immigration checkpoints. Eligibility Criteria for Visa-Free Entry Not all Singapore PRs automatically qualify for visa-free entry. The key eligibility requirements are: Permanent Resident Status: Travelers must hold Permanent Resident status in Singapore. National Registration Identity Card (NRIC): Only Singapore PRs with the blue NRIC are eligible for this facility. Reminder: Eligible travelers must bring their Blue NRIC when visiting Bintan Resorts. Exclusion of Certain Nationalities: The visa-free policy does not apply to individuals from countries subject to calling visa requirements. Visitor Stay Permit and Limitations Upon entry through one of the designated seaports, Singapore PRs will receive an entry stamp, which also acts as a Visitor Stay Permit. This permit allows a stay of up to four (4) days, and it is important to note that it cannot be extended or converted to another visa type. Therefore, travelers should plan their visits accordingly to make the most of their time in Indonesia.
